Chapada Diamantina
Located about 400km from the capital of Salvador, not far from Bahia, Chapada Diamantina is known worldwide for its magnitude and natural beauty. Inside the National Park you will find one of the most famous attractions in Brazil: o Vale do Pati. It is an extended area of mountains and plains, full of natural beauties and waterfalls, where nature is practically untouched.
THE EXPERIENCE
Get ready for an incredible immersion walking next to innumerable that will take your breath away like Cachoeirão (waterfall), Gruta do Castelo (cave), Gerais do Vieira (trail) and Rio Preto and not the least all the diversified vegetation. Get to appreciate the contact with history, customs and local culture and homemade food prepared with much love by the local inhabitants.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Welcome to Lençóis! Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, our team will contact you to give you more details about the next few days.
Day 2 – Breakfast and departure to the town of Guinea (approx. 2 hours by car). On this first day of hiking, we cross Gerais do Rio Preto towards Cachoeirão, an impressive waterfall 300m high. We continue the trail, ending the first day at Dona Léia’s house. Overnight stay.
Day 3 – Today we start our walk along the Funis River, with stops for bathing in the waterfalls along the way. In the afternoon, we follow the trail to Gruta do Castelo, a huge quartzite cave located at the top of the Serra da Lapinha. Once we reach the peak, we will cross over to enjoy the view on the other side of the valley. Overnight stay.
Day 4 – Day of departure from Vale do Pati. We start the trail towards Vale do Capão early, crossing Gerais do Rio preto and the Gerais do Vieira, on an incredible trail with classic views of the main mountains and hills of the region. We will cover a longer distance on this day. In the morning we start with a heavier climb however the rest of the stretches are in flat areas or on descending slopes. In the afternoon we arrive at Bomba, in Vale do Capão, where a car awaits us to take us back to Lençóis. Check-in and stay the night.
Day 5 – Breakfast and transfer to the airport or bus station.
